Let's Get Busy is a speed date style event, connecting nonprofits to consultants in branding, graphic design, web design, social and strategy—hosted by designer and educator Precious Bugarin and nonprofit consultant Toni Tabora-Roberts. Our Design Week Portland 2017 event was a big success and we met our goal of creating connections, inspiring actions and keeping conversations going about the collaboration between creatives and nonprofits. We've brought the event back this year and hope to see your nonprofit there!

Matt Morasky, Territory
Matt Morasky, is an award-winning creative director, consultant, visual thinker, and author who comfortably straddles the business and creative worlds. In 2016 Matt co-authored The Art of Opportunity, a practical guide to identifying, developing and seizing growth opportunities using hands-on, visual-thinking activities, illustrated theory and contemporary case studies. During his years at the pioneering visual consultancy, XPLANE, Matt opened the Amsterdam studio—assembling teams of consultants, project managers, and design professionals to help European businesses navigate complex issues. He is currently co-founder and partner at Territory.
CHRIS NORTH, studio5 psu gd department
Chris’s experience in higher education and professional practice has served students and clients alike through vision planning, brand strategy development and creative leadership. Chris is a member of the faculty at the School of Art + Design, College of the Arts at Portland State University and at Pacific Northwest College of Art. She is the coordinator of Studio5; PSU graphic design department's junior level branding course that works with nonprofits and micro businesses.
We are Factory North. We are front-of-the-house people, artists, musicians, food-lovers, nerds, entrepreneurs and problem solvers. Our various backgrounds drive our inspiration. TONI TABORA-ROBERTS, HOST
Toni Tabora-Roberts has more than 20 years of experience working in the nonprofit and private sectors in a variety of roles, with expertise in program management, communications, community engagement, grant making and strategic planning. She has particular experience and passion for arts, culture, media, education, leadership development, and social justice. She is the founder of Esper House, a management, project, and communications consultancy.
Raised by a pack of wolves in the back-40, Audrey now spends her time devising ways to dismantle the patriarchy and partner with organizations that seek to solve some of the salient issues of our time. A designer and illustrator for over 15 years, Audrey works at the intersection of design and sustainability via social justice work, environmental conservation, the arts, education, innovation, and local food systems.
Caroline is a Designer, Strategist, and internationally traveled Graphic Recorder specializing in visual communications solutions for government and commercial.
Her studio, Caza Creative, focuses on powerful storytelling, user specific solutions, and memorable visuals attained by a human-centered design approach. The illustration and visual thinking tools utilized in the process serve to engage stakeholders, break down complex problems and unknowns, and build connections between organizations and their audience.
Jenna Cerruti, prichard communications
At Prichard, we use our communications superpowers to make the world a better place. We create strategic communications to help top-tier foundations, nonprofits and purpose-driven brands advance their causes. Account Director Jenna Cerruti leads Prichard's client work, working closely with foundations and their grantees in public health and human services to shape strategic plans, define their audiences, and implement effective communications like strong messaging.

Precious is a creative director, designer, and educator. She creates brands for business and non-profits, as well as social stationery for clients across the country. Her design work and teaching focuses on branding for social good and the arrangement of effective and beautiful type. She has worked with Mercy Corps, Nike Well, The National Juvenile Justice Network, Reclaiming Futures, Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon, Portland Parks Foundation and Write Around Portland among others. Most recently she refreshed Design Week Portland's brand with Gaby Tirta Jenkins as studio No One.
Tom is a seasoned strategist and long time Social Enterprise supporter who works with brands to develop experience and marketing programs. As a founding board member of HATCH, Tom has helped launching organizations refine their core purpose, audience, and strategy, and to create viable planning docs to move forward with confidence.

We were very excited to attend the Let's Get Busy event last year and it lived up to everything we wanted and more. What a great platform, bringing creatives and non-profits together to spark conversations about solutions for the current roadblocks or hesitations working with non-profits. And most importantly to make introductions for people to get work done now! We were able to reconnect with a non-profit, Harper's Playground that we had previously worked with and found out they had some new design needs with some accelerated growth.
