Let's Get Busy

Let's Get Busy is a speed date style event, connecting nonprofits to creative consultants in fun mini consultations. Nonprofits can bring projects or questions about their brand or marketing to the table and creatives can provide their expertise and ideas to help out!

Hosted by designer and educator Precious Bugarin and nonprofit consultant Toni Tabora-Roberts, Let’s Get Busy is in it’s third year during Design Week Portland. This year we created a partnership between WVDO and the nonprofits they work with and The Visible Creatives who pledge to complete a probono project per year — we’re excited about the potential for creating connections, inspiring action and keeping conversations going about the collaboration between creatives and nonprofits.

Let’s Get Busy is not a ticketed Design Week Portland event — if you’d like to be a creative or creative team providing speed consulting to a local nonprofit please reach out to us!

better together

Let’s Get Busy is a part of Better Together— a track of events during Design Week Portland created by a committee of design and non-profit leaders working to bridge the gap between creative agencies and non-profits. We believe in the power of thoughtful design, and we care deeply about the hard work that non-profits do to make lives better. We want to make powerful design more accessible to nonprofits. Design can act in partnership with non-profit missions to amplify their hard work and help to gain more active and financial support.

Better Talk, the panel discussion is a lively, moderated talk about the relationships between non-profits and creatives with the goal of answering the question: What can we learn from each other? Our panel contributors will share their challenges, success stories, collaborative processes and much more. Through our talk, we aim to develop ideas on how to better facilitate connections between non-profits and creatives—and have you leave motivated to work together, armed with new ideas, useful tools, and inspiration.
